Food Trucks on Front Street
Food Trucks on Front returns to downtown Mokena for a series of Wednesday evening gatherings running from May through October.
Visitors can stop by Front Street to choose from a rotating selection of food trucks while enjoying drinks and live music in the downtown area. Food and beverage vendors may change from one date to the next, giving residents a reason to come back throughout the season.
The food trucks will be available from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with live music scheduled from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event takes place on the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Classic cars take over Downtown Tinley Park on Tuesday evenings during the summer for Tinley Park Cruise Nights, a free weekly gathering featuring vehicles from a variety of eras, live entertainment, food, drinks, and activities around Harmony Square.
The 2026 event area has been expanded along Oak Park Avenue, 67th Court, and 173rd Street, giving visitors more room to walk through the collection of classic and specialty vehicles. Harmony Square also becomes part of the evening's activities, with food and beverages available for purchase and Bingo held inside Studio 67.
Cruise Nights are presented by Tinley Park V.F.W. Post 2791 and run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.

Parking: Visitor parking is available in the north Oak Park Avenue Metra station parking lot. Show vehicles may park along Oak Park Avenue, 67th Court, and 173rd Street, with additional show-car parking available in the municipal lot behind Subway.
Road Closures: Oak Park Avenue from 171st Street to North Street and 67th Court from 172nd Street to North Street begin closing at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Cruise Night evenings. Oak Park Avenue remains closed to through traffic in the event area until approximately 8:00 p.m.
Weather: Cruise Nights are weather dependent. The Village of Tinley Park posts cancellation notices through its website and social media channels when necessary.

Pickleball fans can watch competitive action up close when the Brick Wall Pro Series comes to Pickled! Frankfort for a weekend of cash-prize doubles competition.
The two-day event is free for spectators and features men's, women's, and mixed doubles matches with players competing as part of the Brick Wall Pickleball Pro Series.
Competition begins Saturday afternoon with Men's Doubles at 1:00 p.m., followed by Women's Doubles at 5:00 p.m. The weekend continues Sunday with Mixed Doubles beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The event is open to all ages, and free parking is available at the venue. Whether you're already into pickleball or just curious about the sport, this is an opportunity to watch higher-level competitive play without purchasing an admission ticket.

Chicago Gaelic Park
Chicago Gaelic Park’s annual Irish Fest returns to Oak Forest for three days of live music, Irish dancing, cultural programming, food, drinks, and family activities.
The long-running festival brings together performers from Ireland and the United States, with multiple stages featuring traditional Irish music, Celtic rock, folk, and other live entertainment throughout the weekend.
The 2026 lineup includes Socks in the Frying Pan, JigJam, Derek Warfield & The Young Wolftones, Billow Wood, Cailíní Lua, Super Céilí, The Drowsy Lads, Kilmaine Saints, George Murphy & Friends, Waxie Dargles, Jinty McGrath, and several additional performers.
Beyond the music, Irish Fest will feature an Irish Cultural Tent with workshops, music, dancing, and cultural demonstrations, along with an Irish Folk Park, performing arts programming, bagpipes, Irish dance performances, and an expanded children’s entertainment area.

Homeowners who want a better understanding of their property assessment and the appeal process can attend a free workshop hosted by the Orland Township Assessor’s Office and the Cook County Assessor’s Office.
The workshop will explain how property assessments are determined, how homeowners can review their assessment, and when filing an appeal may make sense. Representatives will also walk attendees through the appeal process and answer questions during a Q&A session.
Residents can submit questions in advance so specific topics can be addressed during the discussion. The workshop is intended to help homeowners better understand their assessment and the options available if they believe their property has been incorrectly valued.

Roger Daltrey, legendary frontman of The Who, will perform at the New Lenox Performing Arts Pavilion as part of the Village of New Lenox’s 2026 Summer Concert Series.
The show will feature a mix of The Who classics, deeper cuts, and songs from Daltrey’s solo career, performed with a semi-acoustic backing band. Singer-songwriter and guitarist Jeffrey Gaines is also scheduled to perform earlier in the evening.
Gates open at 5:00 p.m., with performances beginning at 5:30 p.m. Jeffrey Gaines is scheduled for 6:45 p.m., followed by Roger Daltrey at 8:00 p.m.
The concert takes place outdoors on the Village Commons lawn. General admission is lawn seating, and guests are permitted to bring blankets and lawn chairs. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine unless weather conditions become unsafe.

Good Shepherd Center for Exceptional Children will host an adults-only country-themed fundraiser at Zachary’s Red Barn in Homer Glen.
The evening will include live entertainment, dancing, raffles, a 50/50 drawing, local vendors, and beverages included with admission. Guests are encouraged to lean into the theme with boots, denim, cowboy hats, or a little extra sparkle. A food truck will also be available, with food sold separately.
Proceeds will support Good Shepherd Center’s programs for children and young adults with and without disabilities, including early childhood education, after-school and summer programs, respite care, and family support services.
